Newcastle City Farmers and Craft Market

From Paddock to Plate farmer fresh is best! Newcastle City Farmers and Craft Market brings together local farmers and producers just like markets of days gone by. Our gourmet food producers have an amazing tasty array of foods to sample and buy.

You get to chat to the farmer, find out where your food is made, how to cook it and even taste test while you shop in the pavilions and around the village green atmosphere of the showground.

Along with food you will find artisan stalls selling the Hunter's best range of quality goods, from clothing made from vintage material to blacksmiths, jewellery makers and painters.

The Farmers Market also has a resident chef, Stephane Pois, on hand to demonstrate a range of different meals all made with ingredients sourced from our own farmers and producers.

Everything you need to feed, clothe or surprise your family can be bought at the Newcastle City Farmers and Craft Market and you know it's all been made with care.


We are constantly adding lots of content, including individual profiles of Farmers, Artisans, Gourmet Foods,and Health and Lifestyle who all provide their wares at the markets each Sunday.

Newcastle City Farmers and Craft Market is now on most Sundays, regardless of the weather, at the Newcastle Showground.


Entry from Griffiths Rd, Broadmeadow. A $2 parking fee applies, which goes towards improvements to the Show Ground.

Bus routes to catch: 363 - get off at Lambton Rd near Australia Rd, Broadmeadow.

323 - get off at  Lambton Rd Nr Australia Rd, Broadmeadow.

230 - get off at Lambton Rd Nr Australia Rd, Broadmeadow.

226 - get off at Broadmeadow Rd Nr Curley Rd.

Train: Take any Newcastle-Sydney service and get off at Broadmeadow Station. Head to the north exit, leave the station, turn right and wander in through the Newcastle Entertainment Centre gates and walk around the oval to the market.
